How To Clean Air Jordan 5

Released in April of 2015, the Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Metallic White’ offers a remastered version of the colorway first released back in 2000. The sneaker has a white tumbled leather upper with metallic silver and black accents on an ice blue translucent outsole. We got our hands on a pair to see how best to clean, care for and protect your Air Jordan 5’s.

First, start by unlacing your Jordans as we will treat the laces separately and this will allow you the access to deep clean around the tongue. Now you will start to treat the laces. Spray a generous amount of Sneaker Cleaner on the laces and rub together to saturate the laces with the solution. Drop them in a container of water and wait for the Sneaker Cleaner to do its magic while you clean your sneaker.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Metallic White’ is a white leather sneaker but if your Jordan 5 is suede or another material, we’ll provide instructions before.

Spray Sneaker Cleaner generously around the shoe and let it sit for about 3 minutes on the sneaker, then dip our Premium Brush in water, shaking off any excess water. Then you can proceed to scrub the shoe in a circular motion focusing on heavily dirtied areas. Start on the uppers and move down to the midsoles followed by the under sole. The water and Sneaker Cleaner will create a foam, so when finished cleaning you can use our Microfiber towel to wipe off any excess dirt and moisture with a dab and twist motion.

For Air Jordan 5s that are suede, it is important not to oversaturate the material with Sneaker Cleaner or water. When the cleaning solution is applied, you can use our Premium Brush on the sneaker scrubbing in one direction to avoid damaging the suede.

Now that your sneakers are clean, you can turn your attention back to your laces. Run them through a clean microfiber towel to rid of any dirt and moisture. The last thing to do in the cleaning process is re-lace them with your clean laces and to let your Jordans dry overnight, making sure to not expose them to sunlight.

When you’ve cleaned your shoes, you want them to stay clean. Grab a clean microfiber towel and our Leather Care. Apply the Leather Care to the microfiber and polish into the shoe to nourish and protect your prized possessions.
