How To Clean Yeezy 500

The adidas and Kanye West collection continues to deliver forward thinking sneakers. The Yeezy 500 is the bulky, dad shoe of the range and we can’t love them enough. The 500s will be in all sneakerheads rotation and they’ll inevitably get dirtied.

We got our hands on the Yeezy 500 Bone Whites and had a closer look at them in The LAB. We had a look at all the materials and the best way to clean, care for and protect them.

When you unbox your newly purchased Yeezy 500s, the first thing you should do before putting them on is to protect them. Use our Sneaker Protector to protect your sneakers on a molecular level against dirt, stains and UV rays.

Now that your 500s have seen some action, it’s time to clean them and get them looking fresh again. Your first step will be to remove the laces and clean them separately. Spray our Sneaker Cleaner solution on the laces and rub them together. Then drop your laces in a container filled with water and let them sit while you clean your shoes. When the laces are saturated with Sneaker Cleaner, squeeze out the excess water and use a microfibre towel to dry them.

When you’re ready to give your Yeezys a deep clean, get our Sneaker Cleaner solution, Premium Brush and a container of water. Since the 500 silhouette features various materials like suede, nubuck, leather and knit, this sneaker will be trickier to clean than most.

Start by gently dry brushing the Yeezy with our Premium Brush to get rid of any excess dirt on the surface. Next, start cleaning the nubuck and suede areas by lightly spraying the Sneaker Cleaner on affected areas making sure not to over-saturate these materials. Brush in a circular motion to avoid damage or spreading dirt. Once clean, move onto the knitted and leather areas of the shoe. Here you can dip your brush into a container of water and start scrubbing in a circular motion.

Next you can focus on the midsole and soles of the shoe. Spray Sneaker Cleaner, dip Premium Brush into some water and start scrubbing.

Another option in your sneaker cleaning endeavors can be the use of Sneaker Wipes. These wipes are perfect for on-the-go cleaning and will be a great option when tackling the various materials of the Yeezy 500.
