Care Starts Within Our Production Line

It’s no secret that much of the fashion and footwear industries have been built on a model that too often puts scale over people. Long hours, minimal pay, unsafe conditions, and turnover rates that sap human dignity are unfortunately all too common.
But what if there is another way; one where growth doesn’t mean sacrifice, and where people are valued as more than cogs in the production line?
At The Lab, we strive to live out that alternative. In our warehouse operations, team members are paid above minimum wage, not just as a compliance measure, but because fairness builds trust, competence, and loyalty.
Our staff generally work a standard 40-hour week. We only extend hours when demand peaks, balancing the need to meet production goals with the need to protect our team from burnout.

“Here at The Lab they’re into wellness and things like that so they take good care of us.” - Warehouse employee

Healthy work-life balance and limits on overtime are tied to better mental and physical well-being. We place emphasis on creating a positive environment beyond the mechanics of work, we enjoy monthly First Fridays where permanent staff share a meal, and team building three times a year (bowling, soccer, mountain hikes) to strengthen bonds, relieve stress, and foster camaraderie.

We also provide clear pathways for career advancement. When employees see that there is room for growth, learning, promotion, and skill development, commitment increases. “Everyday is a new challenge, which I enjoy. There is always something new to learn and something to look forward to, that’s what I love about Sneaker LAB.”

Fair pay, safe working conditions, and supportive environments form the foundation of human dignity and lasting progress. Every team member deserves work that values their time, supports their health, and allows for balance beyond the workplace. When people feel appreciated and supported, they bring energy, focus, and excellence to what they do, building both quality and consistency within the business. A well-designed workspace; clean, bright, and respectful, encourages well-being and strengthens collaboration. “For me, it’s the environment. We are more like a family here, and over the two years I’ve been here, I’ve learned a lot and grown with everyone. We’re bonded like family.”

Trust plays an essential role in how we operate. Empowering people with responsibility shows belief in their capability and fosters ownership of their work. “We have targets and stuff, we always reach our targets, and when we have, they give us the freedom to do what we want, because they know they can trust us to deliver at the end of the day.”

We’re committed to progress. Our goal is for every person working in our warehouse to feel supported, safe, and proud of the work they do. We spoke to some of our team members who shared what this means in their day-to-day. “We putting in our ideas and stuff, like when I came here there was a certain way that everything was done, and afterwards we made it better and more efficient for us.” We want our team members to see clear growth paths, access meaningful benefits, and know that their contributions are valued. This means continuing to invest in fair compensation that keeps pace with the cost of living, maintaining reasonable schedules that allow for balance and rest, and fostering wellness through connection and culture-building activities. It also means ensuring transparency in advancement and recognition, so that every individual feels seen, motivated, and empowered to grow alongside the brand.

“We are a family here; we understand each other and we work together.”

Mass production won’t be fixed overnight, but in every warehouse, every shift, and every interaction, there’s an opportunity to act differently. We believe that caring for the people who power the brand isn’t a cost, it’s the foundation of a future worth being part of.

It’s possible to grow without sacrificing dignity. Because in the end, a product’s true value isn’t just in what it looks like, it’s also in how it was made. “We enjoy working here, like we would do anything for the company” - a beautiful sentiment from our warehouse team.
